The Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) represents low income taxpayers who have a dispute with the IRS. We also provide education and outreach to individuals who speak English as a second language (ESL).

The LITC can represent you before the IRS or in court on audits, appeals, tax collection matters, and other tax disputes. Services are provided free or for a small fee. If you are accepted as a client, you may need to pay for expenses incurred during representation, such as filing fees, court costs, transcript costs, copying, and mailing charges. Although the LITC receives partial funding from the IRS, the LITC, their employees, and their volunteers are completely independent of the IRS.

The Clinic gives low income taxpayers free legal assistance on federal tax matters. You may have to pay court costs and filing fees, if necessary.

All telephone conversations and client interviews are confidential.

Many tax laws are hard to understand and if you have a problem with the IRS, you might need legal assistance. The CGN LITC may be able to help.
